Residents of the Village area of South Belfast with questions about ongoing regeneration work are being invited to attend a public information evening.
With demolition continuing in the redevelopment area, plans for new housing, construction of which is due to begin in 2012, will be on display at Richview Regeneration Centre on the Donegall Road from 7.30pm on 25 August.
Members of the community design team, made up of local residents, and representatives of the Housing Executive and housing associations involved in the regeneration will be in attendance to assist with any queries.
Mark Simpson, community design team member and local Green Party activist, said: “The period leading up to redevelopment has been a difficult time for many residents, especially those who have had to move out of the area, have had houses in their street demolished or have fallen victim to crime linked to the derelict and demolished properties.
“Thursday’s meeting will be an opportunity to see what awaits at the end of the project – houses with greatly reduced energy costs that can be easily adapted to meet the needs of older or disabled residents and more outdoor amenity space. We hope to see as many residents there as possible.”
