During 2012, the South Belfast Green Party will host a series of discussions, starting this Wednesday (28 March) with a session on the topic ‘Green politics and the new Northern Ireland’.

This event is open to members and non-members. We hope to hear a range of views from across the green movement on why green politics matters and how the party and the movement as a whole can best work to achieve our objectives in the coming years.

Please try to attend and contribute to the discussion. In preparation, you may wish to think about:

  • Why you first became interested in green politics (eg a particular issue or person)
  • What attracted you to the organisation(s) with which you are currently involved
  • Which issues you think should be priorities for greens in Northern Ireland
  • How we can best put green issues on the political agenda (eg standing for election, lobbying elected representatives, lobbying government officials, through the media, non-violent direct action etc)

We will be meeting in the Robinson Room, Belfast International Youth Hostel (see, starting at 7.15pm. If you plan to attend, please email
