Green Party leader and Assembly Member for North Down
Steven Agnew became leader of the Green Party in Northern Ireland in 2010 and was elected to the Northern Ireland Assembly in May 2011, representing the North Down constituency.
Steven is a former resident of South Belfast and played a leading role in establishing the current constituency group in the area. He continues to take a keen interest in matters that affect the constituency, including housing improvements to reduce levels of fuel poverty, sustainable transport, protecting public services and keeping higher education affordable for all.
At Stormont, Steven’s key priorities are to ensure government departments work together for the benefit of all and the development of an economy that serves the people – not the other way round – without destroying the environment on which we all depend. He is a member of the Committee for Enterprise, Trade and Investment.
Steven lives in Bangor with his partner and son.
